What was once a printed document jealously guarded by Brazilian workers, the Work and Social Security Card, or CTPS, has adapted to modernity today and migrated to the digital environment, which can be accessed through cell phone screens.

The document, formerly known as the Professional Card, is mandatory for those who come to provide some type of professional service in Brazil, after all, it is in it that the entire professional history of the person who has it is recorded.

With access to digital CTPS, many doubts arose regarding its functionality, but we can advance the information that both the physical and the virtual document have the same function.

But make no mistake. Although both ways have the same functionality, the document scanning process was essential for a great advance, both for workers and for companies. One of these factors was the reduction of bureaucracy in processes, facilitating routines for several citizens, and the importance of this has been reinforced in recent times of social isolation.

The application that gives access to the CTPS has existed since 2017, but its use did not replace the physical document. It was only in mid-2019 that the use of the physical Work Card became obsolete, and could finally be exchanged for the virtual document.

How to download the Digital Work Card The worker who wants to have the digital work card, must access the application store of his smartphone, either Android or iOS and search in the search bar for “Digital Work Card”.

First of all, you will have to register on the Federal Government website. Just access the gov.br website, open the work card tab and press the “start” button, which will take you to the screen below:

Then, you must click on the “ENTER COM GOV.BR” button and a window will open in your browser, as illustrated below:

Soon after, you will be asked for your CPF number followed by a password. If there is already an account registered with your CPF number, the field for filling in the password will appear.

If you do not have an account on the site, you will need to register the information that will be requested by the platform.
